Warden Incident Report - 3 April - filed by Stephanie

[ Text, Warden Filter ]

As we all know, there was a flood on the 28th that turned most of the wardens into children. If anything odd happened during it, let me know, because I was five and not really paying attention.

An earlier report regarding O'Brien's actions was presented here by Paddy.

Oh, Barbossa started a pirate crew. But that was mostly just cool.

Earlier today Perry Dawsey murdered Rex in the inmate bathroom while Crane video-taped. Maybe in Eddie Brock's room, I don't know why he was there at all. Both Perry and Crane have been taken care of.

Eames would like us to note that if you want to murder Crane in revenge, you need his permission first, and Harper has declared his intent to kill anyone who hurts his inmate. If anybody else would like to make declarations of similar initiatives, we might want to put up a cork board and just post them up there. I'm asking for a cork board to be put up in the dining hall. Just to keep things organized, you know.

Anyone with information on the ghost kids were seeing or that cute baby dragon should come forward and share with the rest of the class.

If I missed anything, let me know.

[ PUBLIC to the Admiral ]

I'd like a cork board to be put up in the dining hall, equipped with sticky notes, very dull tacks and pens, in case any more wardens want to make death threats or declarations. Just so nobody misses them. We have to keep our threats in order, you see. Wouldn't want anybody to get hurt because they didn't realize that murder is wrong.

Please take away Blonsky's ability to make messages private to anyone but me.

It has. Several times. I've come to terms with it, I think.

It does if you break the right ones.

So let me ask you one question. Do you believe into doing unto others as you would have done unto you?

No bone is the right one to break, Steph.

Re: private voice;

[identity profile] ichoosefight.livejournal.com 2011-04-04 12:06 am (UTC)(link)
No, I don't. If I did, I'd be a killer. I have my own rules, Howie, I'm not some violent psychopath masquerading as a hero.

It is if it's the bone that stops a murderer.

I never said you were. But there's a point in the law. You can't break it in enforcing it, not without reason.

And do you really think it will?

Re: private voice;

[identity profile] ichoosefight.livejournal.com 2011-04-04 12:12 am (UTC)(link)
Maybe not if you follow the law. My world doesn't work that way.

I've made it happen. It will.

Re: private voice;

[identity profile] kingfor-aday.livejournal.com 2011-04-04 12:13 am (UTC)(link)
Alright, I do understand that. But don't you think it should work that way?

So what, exactly, is your grand, punching at a brick wall plan to stop people like Harper threatening murder?

Re: private voice;

[identity profile] ichoosefight.livejournal.com 2011-04-04 12:16 am (UTC)(link)
I like how my world works. It works for me.

The plan is, I keep an eye on him, and if he tries to go through with it I knock him out and drag him to zero.

Re: private voice;

[identity profile] kingfor-aday.livejournal.com 2011-04-04 12:19 am (UTC)(link)
But does it work for everyone else? Wouldn't it be better if the rule of law actually worked?

So treating another warden like he was an inmate. Is that what we've come to?

Re: private voice;

[identity profile] ichoosefight.livejournal.com 2011-04-04 12:22 am (UTC)(link)
It'd be better if the system did what it was meant to do. Obviously the world isn't quite that kind.

We shouldn't be treating wardens like they're so special and above everyone else that they can't be punished. So yes, that is what we've come to.

Re: private voice;

[identity profile] kingfor-aday.livejournal.com 2011-04-04 12:24 am (UTC)(link)
No, but isn't it better to try and make the system work than just plain ignore it?

Except even with my own inmate, I try to reason things out of her instead of just stalking her and pouncing.

That being said, I will stand in his way.

Re: private voice;

[identity profile] ichoosefight.livejournal.com 2011-04-04 12:27 am (UTC)(link)
That's what I do. I send the guys to prison, you know. I just have to make sure they get caught.

People tried to reason with him. If he won't call it off, stalking and pouncing are totally what I'm all about.

Re: private voice;

[identity profile] kingfor-aday.livejournal.com 2011-04-04 12:29 am (UTC)(link)
And what's wrong with the people with the legal authority to do that doing it?

And we can keep trying.

They keep messing it up.

You can keep trying. I'm a rogue operator.

And who are you to judge that?

Have fun.

[ Scathingly, ] The one who had to put on a mask just to make sure my own father stayed in prison.

[identity profile] kingfor-aday.livejournal.com 2011-04-04 12:44 am (UTC)(link)
[ooooooooooh. Harsh, careful breath in.]

...Alright.

I'd still see that more as a flaw in the system to be fixed than a condemnation of the whole thing.

Re: private voice;

[identity profile] ichoosefight.livejournal.com 2011-04-04 12:45 am (UTC)(link)
If the police didn't need help bringing in monsters like the Joker or Two Face or any of them, then there wouldn't be so many vigilantes in Gotham.

Re: private voice;

[identity profile] kingfor-aday.livejournal.com 2011-04-04 12:47 am (UTC)(link)
Or perhaps if the vigilantes didn't legitimise actions outside the law, there wouldn't be so many people undermining the rule of law as it stood.

I understand your point, but I can't agree with it.

Re: private voice;

[identity profile] ichoosefight.livejournal.com 2011-04-04 12:49 am (UTC)(link)
We sure as hell don't legitimize murdering entire cities.

You don't have to.

Re: private voice;

[identity profile] kingfor-aday.livejournal.com 2011-04-04 12:52 am (UTC)(link)
Neither does the law.

Re: private voice;

[identity profile] ichoosefight.livejournal.com 2011-04-04 12:53 am (UTC)(link)
We tend to do a better job at actually preventing it, though.

Re: private voice;

[identity profile] kingfor-aday.livejournal.com 2011-04-04 01:03 am (UTC)(link)
Only because you pre-empt the law and don't give them chance to act legitimately and properly.

Re: private voice;

[identity profile] ichoosefight.livejournal.com 2011-04-04 01:20 am (UTC)(link)
In the cases where I act? By the time the patrol cars got there it would have been too late.

Re: private voice;

[identity profile] kingfor-aday.livejournal.com 2011-04-04 01:22 am (UTC)(link)
I don't like people making assumptions on behalf of the law. Because where I'm from, in the middle of nowhere, it might take me over an hour to get to a crime scene, but I am damn sure the first there.

Re: private voice;

[identity profile] ichoosefight.livejournal.com 2011-04-04 01:24 am (UTC)(link)
Actually, in the Joker's case, you'd probably be dead. Or the first there to a crime scene. I like to step in before people get killed, but that's just me.
