warden incident report - 27th of May - filed by Neil Howie for Stephanie Brown

There only seems to be the flood, this week, but that's got... problems of it's own.

Does anyone have a definitive idea what it might be? I have a sneaking suspicion, but it's hard to know just from observing, as I've been unaffected. [as far as he knows.]

So far, from what I've seen, we've had:

- Infestations - Rats (O'Brien) and bats (Prefect).
- Inflicted injuries/pains of varying kinds (Angelica Sexby, Sylvanas Windrunner, Amanda Young, and several others)
- Theft/removal of property (Vila) - this could be an isolated incident and not flood related, admittedly. I can investigate, if nobody else wants to. It's not like I have anything else to do.
- Uncharacteristic behaviour (Narvin, Hoffman, to name a few)
- Locked in/out of places. (Patrick was locked in Zero, the Doctor is locked out of places.
- Change in physical appearance (Edward Sexby only, I think?)

Can anyone find a link between these things? As I... can certainly see a potential one for some of these things, but... he wouldn't do that, would he? [oops, personal opinion. Back to the facts.]

On a much more serious note, since the flood started, there have been two reported deaths.

- Rinzler was found dead by Miss Parker, who made a video record of some of the scene. A few people were going to help her. Has anyone investigated properly yet, and found or talked to the main suspect?

- Tim Drake was reported to be dead by Stephanie Brown. [filtered away from Steph. If he can manage it.] And if everyone could account for their weapons, just to prove to her that Tim isn't dead, that'd be appreciated. I believe the flood is making her believe it despite all evidence otherwise, and I've tried to make her question it, as I'm sure many of you have too, and it's not working. So I'm not sure what to do with that. If you have talked to her, have you noticed her... go weird? Like in a trance weird? [/Back to regular filters.]

I'd also like to remind everyone to contribute to the Weapons Catalogue if you own such a thing. [reminding you is what Howie does.]

Departures (apologies for forgetting earlier): Inmates - Ray,
Wardens - B'Elanna.

The next report will be filed by Una Persson.

Still stuck down here, foah the record. T'Pol and Kevin tried opening it from the outside and the door's still locked. [He's not actually complaining about it, even though yeah, getting out eventually would be nice, but this has got to be over soon, right?] Can the door open for the Doctor if someone else does it, oah is it like, as long as he's around, the door can't open?

What've you been thinking? About the pattern and whatever.

Oh, and if we're still trackin' disappearances? B'Elanna and Ray are gone.

Is there anything else you need down there? And he was asking other people to open doors for him, so I think it's just him.

I think, to use someone else's phrase, it's turning the sin against the sinner.

[pause]

And that makes me incredibly ill at ease. He shouldn't do things like that. It's tantamount to torture or at least retribution in some places, bearing in mind some of the 'sins' people have committed here...

I stole that phrase off an inmate. If that's what this really is, I'm actually kind of angry about it.

But it's only a theory.

Nah, I'm fine, guy. Maybe some food oah a book oah somethin' in a while, but honestly I'm more concerned that "ghosts" are using my inmate foah target practice, and I'm kinda... stuck.

[And that... that actually makes a lot of sense to Patrick, who is now starting to have a very strong suspicion about how he ended up here.] Kinda an over dramatic way to point out no one's perfect oah whatever. Which inmate suggested it, out of curiosity?

[identity profile] kingfor-aday.livejournal.com 2011-05-27 09:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Did anyone volunteer to check in on him, or not? I can if not.

It's more than over dramatic, it's downright immoral in my view. Unjust, too, but I can't quite believe he'd put people through physical and mental suffering... oh, who am I kidding, it's the Admiral, isn't it?

That's not... what I meant, by the inmate. The inmate uses that phrase to describe what he does to people. Turns their sin against them. So now, if this is right, the Admiral is following in an inmate's footsteps. Reassuring. Really bloody reassuring.

He's got a couple people on boahd who'd be able to help out if things get really bad, so I'm not too concerned. But if you happen to run into him, I definitely wouldn't mind.

I don't know, how intentional is this? Floods ah usually just him bein' a terrible driver, right? So maybe it's just fuckin' terrible luck.

[identity profile] kingfor-aday.livejournal.com 2011-05-28 10:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Shall do.

I don't know. I might have been here too long to believe it's all an accident.

I hope and pray it is, because if this is intentional, I'm appalled, to be honest.
knowsthepeople: (The kidnapper's comin' back? :\)

[personal profile] knowsthepeople 2011-05-28 10:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks, Howie.

Since we're never gonna get an answer, might be safer to just think it's an accident.

[identity profile] kingfor-aday.livejournal.com 2011-05-28 10:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Safer, but... I can't quite convince myself.

[identity profile] doctor-scarf.livejournal.com 2011-05-27 07:56 pm (UTC)(link)
If somebody else opens the door or if I have a key, I can open it. Otherwise, all the doors seem to be miraculously stuck.

Seems kinda like an odd affect to have.

[identity profile] lotoftrouble.livejournal.com 2011-05-27 08:06 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm hallucinating and I have phantom pains in my shoulder. The hallucinations I maybe can explain. When I was an inmate, I accidentally made Hayley hallucinate her friends, both on and off-Barge. The same is happening to me.

Perhaps it has something to do with our flaws?

[identity profile] kingfor-aday.livejournal.com 2011-05-27 09:55 pm (UTC)(link)
I see.

Maybe it does. I'm hoping it's more subtle than just turning things back on us.

[identity profile] lotoftrouble.livejournal.com 2011-05-27 09:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Is the Admiral ever subtle?

[identity profile] kingfor-aday.livejournal.com 2011-05-27 10:01 pm (UTC)(link)
No, but... aren't you disturbed by the idea?

[identity profile] lotoftrouble.livejournal.com 2011-05-27 10:03 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm not entirely sure what you're implying, Howie.

that strike is well, well struck out. and someone's twitchy thanks to HIS flood. :/

[identity profile] kingfor-aday.livejournal.com 2011-05-27 10:07 pm (UTC)(link)
I just keep getting what John did to me in my head and by comparison, the only difference is that someone died at the end of that.

I mean, if he's turning what we've done back on ourselves, it's about the equivalent to what some of the inmates are here for. It's not justice. It might teach someone something, yes, but it's torture. Some of the things I have had done to me I would not wish done to someone else.

That's why I hate that they were done to me. And that's why the possibility of it being quite unsubtle and just about... replicating what we've done wrong disturbs me.

heeeey loki's strike is well stuck out also!

[identity profile] lotoftrouble.livejournal.com 2011-05-28 12:09 am (UTC)(link)
It's the Admiral, Howie. The man exists to torture us.

But...I think you're right. I shot Prentiss in the shoulder, ages ago, before you were even here I think. I just remembered, thinking about what I had done and...

Oh Gods. Baldur, his death, that mistletoe. I need to get rid of that stupid plant

[identity profile] kingfor-aday.livejournal.com 2011-05-28 12:21 am (UTC)(link)
But this is brutal torture, this is outright torture and... Christ.

I don't remember that happening and... damn.

This isn't right. It's not right.

I wonder if that was why...

[identity profile] kingfor-aday.livejournal.com 2011-05-28 10:17 pm (UTC)(link)
It didn't affect me...

I just don't know what the hell this is playing at.

The speculation about this is very interesting. Who says all floods need to be consistently themed, though.

[identity profile] kingfor-aday.livejournal.com 2011-05-27 10:50 pm (UTC)(link)
A good point, but I doubt it would be totally without a point.

The sad truth is that moth horrific anomalies are simply that. It is a linear view of the universe that prompts putting reasons on accidental events...

[identity profile] kingfor-aday.livejournal.com 2011-05-27 10:55 pm (UTC)(link)
We usually can, though. And I'm not sure we can help our linear view of things, to be honest.

Yeah, I've noticed. It's like she stops hearing.

An for the record, not dead.

It's a flood. Most of them are, Howie. [He's actually pretty worried himself, just. You know. Bat-ishly hiding it.]

[He is suspicious of what you know now, Howie. :|] They do anyway.

[identity profile] 19centconstable.livejournal.com 2011-05-28 04:36 am (UTC)(link)
I believe one solution would be cats. Or small dogs.

[identity profile] 19centconstable.livejournal.com 2011-05-29 12:02 am (UTC)(link)
Yes. Small dogs can be good rat-catchers. What else could you think I would mean?

[identity profile] kingfor-aday.livejournal.com 2011-05-29 12:05 am (UTC)(link)
I had no idea, that's why I asked.

From what Una said, these rats are the size of small dogs. We might need some large ones.

[identity profile] 19centconstable.livejournal.com 2011-05-29 12:22 am (UTC)(link)
I suppose they might help in tracking down stolen property, or they could comfort the injured, but I don't see how they could do much about locks or someone's looks.

Large dogs aren't very good with rats, I'm afraid. I'd also like to caution against using ferrets, because they'll go right for a man's tender bits.

[identity profile] kingfor-aday.livejournal.com 2011-05-29 12:25 am (UTC)(link)
You've got a very good point there.

...That is a horrific mental image. Ow. No ferrets.

[identity profile] 19centconstable.livejournal.com 2011-05-29 12:36 am (UTC)(link)
I'm surprised the rats didn't go for anyone's bits.

...

Did the rats go for anyone's bits?

[identity profile] kingfor-aday.livejournal.com 2011-05-29 12:40 am (UTC)(link)
You'll have to ask O'Brien.

[identity profile] 19centconstable.livejournal.com 2011-05-29 12:51 am (UTC)(link)
I think I might prefer not to know, actually.

[identity profile] kingfor-aday.livejournal.com 2011-05-29 12:52 am (UTC)(link)
Aye. Thinking about it's bad enough.

[identity profile] 19centconstable.livejournal.com 2011-05-29 01:06 am (UTC)(link)
What...floor were they seen on?

[identity profile] kingfor-aday.livejournal.com 2011-05-29 01:08 am (UTC)(link)
One. They were in O'Brien's room... and I think Una's got them under control.

[identity profile] 19centconstable.livejournal.com 2011-05-29 01:35 am (UTC)(link)
Good.

Although I still may sleep with my trousers on.

[identity profile] kingfor-aday.livejournal.com 2011-05-29 06:30 pm (UTC)(link)
...I don't blame you.
