Warden Incident Report - 3 April - filed by Stephanie

[ Text, Warden Filter ]

As we all know, there was a flood on the 28th that turned most of the wardens into children. If anything odd happened during it, let me know, because I was five and not really paying attention.

An earlier report regarding O'Brien's actions was presented here by Paddy.

Oh, Barbossa started a pirate crew. But that was mostly just cool.

Earlier today Perry Dawsey murdered Rex in the inmate bathroom while Crane video-taped. Maybe in Eddie Brock's room, I don't know why he was there at all. Both Perry and Crane have been taken care of.

Eames would like us to note that if you want to murder Crane in revenge, you need his permission first, and Harper has declared his intent to kill anyone who hurts his inmate. If anybody else would like to make declarations of similar initiatives, we might want to put up a cork board and just post them up there. I'm asking for a cork board to be put up in the dining hall. Just to keep things organized, you know.

Anyone with information on the ghost kids were seeing or that cute baby dragon should come forward and share with the rest of the class.

If I missed anything, let me know.

[ PUBLIC to the Admiral ]

I'd like a cork board to be put up in the dining hall, equipped with sticky notes, very dull tacks and pens, in case any more wardens want to make death threats or declarations. Just so nobody misses them. We have to keep our threats in order, you see. Wouldn't want anybody to get hurt because they didn't realize that murder is wrong.

Please take away Blonsky's ability to make messages private to anyone but me.

Political change is slow. I like my way better. It's more vindicating.

Nah, I'm more like the person who sticks one person's note on another person's food, throws away the first note, and eats the leftovers. I am a doodler, though.

But less legitimate.

...I knew one of those. They always ate my sandwiches.

Depends on your view of 'legitimate'.

I bet it was a delicious sandwich, too.

Mine is quite clear.

Oh, they were. I'm a terrible cook, but my sandwiches are brilliant. You need a good sandwich to get you through John 2 in Greek.

I live in a blurry world.

I have no regrets. I'm not ashamed of my sandwich-stealing tendencies. You should've started making two sandwiches.

Re: private voice;

[identity profile] kingfor-aday.livejournal.com 2011-04-03 11:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Most of us do. But we only stop it being such a blurry world by holding ourselves to strict standards.

Or I should have started putting mustard on cheese sandwiches. By the jarful. And seeing if anyone ate them then.

By the way. That request of yours? I'm not sure if it'll help at all.

Re: private voice;

[identity profile] ichoosefight.livejournal.com 2011-04-03 11:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Vigilantes do that. They just do it in a blurry world.

But then you'd still be down a sandwich.

[ BELABORED SIGH. ] I don't really care about helping, at this point. I can't change these people. I can't change how they think. The only thing I can do is change how I act and think, and try my best to stop people from hurting each other. If that means I have to take out the cape and cowl and patrol the halls at night? Fine. But I'm sick of talking to brick walls.

Re: private voice;

[identity profile] kingfor-aday.livejournal.com 2011-04-03 11:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Standards unaccountable to the public. [pause] Sorry, but I have to believe in the rule of law.

Aye, but next time, you'd think twice.

You have to keep trying, Steph. I have to. Brick walls or not, just accepting things... is as bad as permitting them, and permitting them is as bad as doing them. At least, I want to keep trying.

Re: private voice;

[identity profile] ichoosefight.livejournal.com 2011-04-03 11:50 pm (UTC)(link)
And I'll always follow my own rules. It doesn't bother me. Me and rules don't always get along.

Or else I'd check for mustard first.

I'm not accepting it, I'm just taking a different route. I don't argue with brick walls. I punch them.

Re: private voice;

[identity profile] kingfor-aday.livejournal.com 2011-04-03 11:53 pm (UTC)(link)
But sometimes rules are there for a reason, and although they might restrict you in one sense, they protect you in another.

Meaning my sandwiches would go untouched. Which is fine, provided I like mustard.

Which tends to end with broken fists, Steph.

Re: private voice;

[identity profile] ichoosefight.livejournal.com 2011-04-03 11:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Maybe I don't like being protected. Maybe I like living dangerously. You know, jumping off of rooftops and taking on five guys at once that are all twice my size.

Because obviously I have a problem with pain and broken bones. I just can't stand the two.

Re: private voice;

[identity profile] kingfor-aday.livejournal.com 2011-04-03 11:58 pm (UTC)(link)
But one day, that'll come back to slap you in the face. I call people out on doing stuff wrong because I would expect them to do the same to me.

But breaking bones doesn't solve anything either.

Re: private voice;

[identity profile] ichoosefight.livejournal.com 2011-04-04 12:00 am (UTC)(link)
It has. Several times. I've come to terms with it, I think.

It does if you break the right ones.

Re: private voice;

[identity profile] kingfor-aday.livejournal.com 2011-04-04 12:03 am (UTC)(link)
So let me ask you one question. Do you believe into doing unto others as you would have done unto you?

No bone is the right one to break, Steph.

Re: private voice;

[identity profile] ichoosefight.livejournal.com 2011-04-04 12:06 am (UTC)(link)
No, I don't. If I did, I'd be a killer. I have my own rules, Howie, I'm not some violent psychopath masquerading as a hero.

It is if it's the bone that stops a murderer.

Re: private voice;

[identity profile] kingfor-aday.livejournal.com 2011-04-04 12:08 am (UTC)(link)
I never said you were. But there's a point in the law. You can't break it in enforcing it, not without reason.

And do you really think it will?

Re: private voice;

[identity profile] ichoosefight.livejournal.com 2011-04-04 12:12 am (UTC)(link)
Maybe not if you follow the law. My world doesn't work that way.

I've made it happen. It will.

Re: private voice;

[identity profile] kingfor-aday.livejournal.com 2011-04-04 12:13 am (UTC)(link)
Alright, I do understand that. But don't you think it should work that way?

So what, exactly, is your grand, punching at a brick wall plan to stop people like Harper threatening murder?

Re: private voice;

[identity profile] ichoosefight.livejournal.com 2011-04-04 12:16 am (UTC)(link)
I like how my world works. It works for me.

The plan is, I keep an eye on him, and if he tries to go through with it I knock him out and drag him to zero.

Re: private voice;

[identity profile] kingfor-aday.livejournal.com 2011-04-04 12:19 am (UTC)(link)
But does it work for everyone else? Wouldn't it be better if the rule of law actually worked?

So treating another warden like he was an inmate. Is that what we've come to?

Re: private voice;

[identity profile] ichoosefight.livejournal.com 2011-04-04 12:22 am (UTC)(link)
It'd be better if the system did what it was meant to do. Obviously the world isn't quite that kind.

We shouldn't be treating wardens like they're so special and above everyone else that they can't be punished. So yes, that is what we've come to.

Re: private voice;

[identity profile] kingfor-aday.livejournal.com 2011-04-04 12:24 am (UTC)(link)
No, but isn't it better to try and make the system work than just plain ignore it?

Except even with my own inmate, I try to reason things out of her instead of just stalking her and pouncing.

That being said, I will stand in his way.

Re: private voice;

[identity profile] ichoosefight.livejournal.com 2011-04-04 12:27 am (UTC)(link)
That's what I do. I send the guys to prison, you know. I just have to make sure they get caught.

People tried to reason with him. If he won't call it off, stalking and pouncing are totally what I'm all about.

Re: private voice;

[identity profile] kingfor-aday.livejournal.com 2011-04-04 12:29 am (UTC)(link)
And what's wrong with the people with the legal authority to do that doing it?

And we can keep trying.

private voice;

[identity profile] ichoosefight.livejournal.com 2011-04-04 12:31 am (UTC)(link)
They keep messing it up.

You can keep trying. I'm a rogue operator.
